Guy Fieri is Coming to Arlington

The Texas Rangers ballclub and The Cordish Companies announced Thursday a new addition to the TEXAS Live! project, a Guy Fieri restaurant owned and operated by the popular Food Network personality.

The restaurant will join previous TEXAS Live! anchor venues Rangers Republic, Live! Arena and Arlington Backyard that will make up the $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality area.

Fieri — a nationally-renowned chef and host of Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, among other shows on the network – currently owns 10 restaurants from coast-to-coast, but said he is especially excited to finally open an establishment in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area.

“It’s awesome to be partnering with the Texas Rangers and The Cordish Companies to bring a restaurant concept to Arlington,” Fieri said. “The Cordish team and I recently opened a big time concept at Fourth Street Live! in Louisville, Ky., and now to bring that energy to Arlington and the great state of Texas is something really special to me.”

Fieri previously visited Arlington when he did a special segment on the Prince Lebanese Grill on W. Randol Mill Rd., in 2009.

Rangers Executive Vice President of Business Operations Rob Matwick said the ballclub is excited to have Fieri come aboard on the TEXAS Live! project and welcomed him with open arms.

“Today’s announcement incorporates an outstanding national brand into TEXAS Live!, which will give Rangers fans the best dining and entertainment experiences possible when it opens in 2018.” Matwick said.

Construction on the first phase of TEXAS Live! is scheduled to begin next week at the project site located between Globe Life Park and AT&T Stadium.

Groundbreaking on the project was originally slated to commence in November, but the Rangers’ early exit from the American League playoffs offered an opportunity to get an earlier start.

“We were obviously hoping that a few more October games would delay this for a little longer,” Matwick said. “However, the Rangers had a great season with a second consecutive division title and now the excitement grows as we will begin site work for this long-awaited development in the Arlington Entertainment District. We can’t wait to get started.”
